why Know Your Beautiful?

You may be asking yourself, why are we saying your vs you're? The answer is simple, founder LaJune King decided to help women own their insecurities. We own who we are. So this means, the ['] and [e] are silent – Know Your Beautiful.

own who you are

Hello, insecurities. Much love and respect to the woman who has it all together - looks, hair, skin, body, education, career, motherhood, marriage, life in general. But that ain't us. Watch This.

You know that jaw dropping moment when someone projects their own insecurities onto you? Or pointing out your unknown flaws, that now gives you a complex? The feeling where you're told that your hair isn't straight enough? Your skin isn't flawless or light enough? Your waist isn't small enough? Perhaps you aren't pretty enough? Your family member or your significant other insists on reminding you of how much you'll never be enough for anyone? Maybe you haven't. Perhaps you have extreme anxiety and the best cure is “prayer”. You find it difficult to juggle work, life + relationships. Maybe you're just a new mom. Maybe you’ve lost a few opportunities to raise a child. You feel inadequate, unsure and alone.  Throughout the years, Visionary + Founder - LaJune King has personally persevered through many of these experiences as a teen and now woman. Read This.

Since giving birth to her then, 2 year old son, she's struggled with every change, that having a child brings on. Coming from a person who LOVED being in front of the camera, to hiding everything but her face, being seen was extremely difficult. LaJune began to notice that she and many other women, shared the same insecurities. Rather than speak positivity over herself, she’d blurt the first negative thought that came to mind. She soon began to feel defined by what she’d gone through.

July of 2013, LaJune decided to make the step toward change. You know the saying, “take it a day at a time”? That was her. She was going to love, accept and OWN every insecurity. Why? Because she is royalty + God created her in His image. What better way to do that, than to make other women feel powerful??!! Through portraiture of course! We don't Photoshop. Since 2016, she has been pouring into 8 teen girls. Her goal for them is to become better 20 something year old women. If she can positively impact just 1 person's self perception, then she's done her job. This is just the beginning.
