LaJune King - Founder

LaJune is a Frisco, Texas photographer. Aside from her love of shooting love, belly bumps and families, she's created Know YOUR Beautiful™. Why Your vs You're, you may ask? Because she's decided to help women OWN their insecurities. We own who we are. So this means, the ['] and [e] are silent. LaJune is extremely transparent and finds it most rewarding when her KYB clients express their gratitude behind what they see on camera. What, no Photoshop? Absolutely not! To empower and inspire someone, they have to love what they see in the mirror. She and other professional women, mentor a group of teens, in hopes of contributing to their own self love and worth. She strives to make her teens better women for their 20s.

"Not everyone will understand or support my journey, but I personally don't care. It's taken me a long time to get to this place of knowing how hard I have  worked + that I deserve to bask in my every accomplishment. Thank you for believing in my vision! I am extremely overwhelmed with the lives I've personally touched. Many of you have touched my life in more ways than one."

This school year, I plan to push myself to my fullest ability to overcome all the obstacles senior year might throw at me. I will also soak in all the advice and information from previous graduates that will prepare me for life after high school. Being accepted into the schools CNA internship program, will give me a huge advantage for the major that I would like to pursue. I would like to make more friends with the same interests as me.  From here on, my main goal is to grow and develop as whole. By doing that I need to make wiser decisions that will affect my future positivelyto become the most trustworthy and dependable young woman I can be.

Jade Jones

Welcome to Know Your Beautiful! Yes it's "your" not "you're", we OWN our flaws. My name is Jade Jones and I am the Austin Team teen lead. As being the eldest of the group, I aspire to lead by example to those younger than me in our squad. Currently, I am a college freshman at the University of Texas at San Antonio! Go Roadrunners! Throughout my first year of college, I'm going to keep note of all high and low points I encounter. With these experiences I'll be able to pass them down to my squad members, making them more aware of the "real world" and what comes with it.

This coming school, I plan to participate more in school functions and activities. I've realized high school will be coming to an end soon so I plan to make the best of it! I will strive for good grades despite how difficult junior year will be. In sports, I'm coming for a major comeback and finishing what I couldn't finish last year, due to injury. Lastly, I want to build a better relationship with God because anything can happen, and I need his help.

Hi! I am a squad mom with the Know Your Beautiful campaign. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas (H-TOOOWWWWWNNNNN). After graduating high school, I left H-town to get my degree in Communications at the University of Texas at Arlington. In 2004, I became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and really got my first introduction to what a sisterhood looks like with people that are not your actual family members. After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Broadcast Communication, I immediately got started with my career in advertising. Now, I have been in the advertising business for about 10 years and I have learned a lot about the procurement of media inventory in many different markets. I currently work at Canvas Worldwide, an advertising agency for client, such as, Hyundai and Kia. I am also a mother to the best son in the world (my opinion) that brightens my life every day. I joined KYB because this organization gives me the opportunity to be with women who are uplifting and optimistic about life. The extra plus was adding KYB Teens, which gives the same morals and values to a younger generation before experiencing true adulthood, which is priceless. I am the fun-loving, spirited SQUAD MOM with energy for days. (the teens will tell you that!!! HA J) #postivevibesonly

Lauren Bragner

Hi! My name is Lauren and I am 15 years old. I am a sophomore at Pflugerville High School. I enjoy an array of things such as running track and field for my school and getting involved in my school and local communities. Saying that, I revel in politics and debating in any way I can. Politics take a special place in my heart because being a young black woman, people of color and especially women of color face inequalities everyday. More people in my generation need to see what is going on in our everyday lives and I want to use my voice to reach out to my people.

My school year, I already know, is going to be hectic! I am taking all pre-AP and AP courses and I will be engaged in athletics and debate team. All of those things have there own schedules and do not want to blend together. So being organized is the key in this. Not only do I want to organized in the classroom but I want to be organized at home. As soon as I get organized I can work on getting a job and learning to drive a car!

In summary, I am a quirky gal with a sense of what's going on in the world today. Boom.

Shauntae Benton - KYB™ STylist

I am a Texas born and educated wife and mompreneur of 2 boys. As a teenager I was engulfed in trends and fashion. I began working in retail at the age of fifteen so that i could offer ideas and new styles to women and their children.  The joy in seeing women light up because of the way they feel in what they are wearing is inspiring. When working with House Of MERCI it’s all about you and your needs.

House Of MERCI’s philosophy is self-awareness is the best self-love. Our goal is to make sure the client knows that we are thankful to have the opportunity to help create and highlight their self-love through fashion.

As a young girl, I would always compare myself to other females. I use to think I had to be like them, skinny, perfect skin, and act like them. I've grown and developed into a woman who accepts it all! I may have been smaller than I am now in the past, but, Baaaaaby, the woman I am today has got it going on! I am confident in who I am, and I fiercely own it....Flaws and ALL!!

I graduated high school classic 2017 this year. I am apart of Know Your Beautiful teens. It has been a great experience, and I've gotten to create a great bond with many. The organization has taught me the true meaning of beautiful. Beauty isn't an ideal look or specific trend. Beauty is a combination of colors, shapes, and many other qualities. To be beautiful is to be yourself inside and out. I personally have fell in love with being a part of this organization, and I hope it continues to grow because everyone should "Know Your Beautiful!"

Karliegh Thomas

I am a 2017 high school graduate. I finished in the top 25% of my class. Now that I have graduated, I am going off to college to continue playing soccer and get my degrees. I plan on majoring in Global Public Health (aka Nursing) and minoring in Spanish. After I get my degrees, I plan to go overseas and be a bilingual travel nurse. My hobbies are lifting weights, playing soccer, and shopping. As of right now, I'm enjoying every last moments I have with my friends and family. All I know is that I wouldn't be the strong independent beautiful young woman I am becoming without them and I couldn't appreciate every single one of them enough.
